Marvin D. Baucom

 

PFC Marvin D. Baucom was killed in Germany on April 9th. He was 21 years of age and was inducted in July 1944 at Fort Bragg. He was transferred to Camp Croft, S.C. where he received his training and went overseas in January of this year.

He married the former Miss May Belle Cox, who with their nine months old daughter, Hilda Kay survives. His mother is Mrs. Ruth Baucom of Monroe and he is survived by three sisters.

Before entering the service, PFC Baucom was employed by Penders and A & P Store in Monroe. He was a member of Center View Baptist Church.
