PRIVATE FIRST CLASS THOMAS B. BLACK

Private First Class Thomas B. Black was killed in action May 11th, 1945 on Mindanao, on of the Philipine Islands. His serial No. was 33952592. He was born in Marshville, N. C., October 24th 1916 and attended Marshville High School. He later went to Washington, D. C. and was employed as a Navy Yard Machinist until February 8th 1944 when he entered the Army.

He was the son of Mrs. Mattie Black and the late Baxter F. Black of Marshville, N. C.
