PFC HASKEL HELMS

PFC Haskel Helms, son of Mr Odie Helms of Marshville Township was killed in combat in Germany on March 5th. He was nineteen years old last July. He entered service in December 1943. On March 13, 1944 he married Aliene Chaney who resides on Marshville Route 2. His mother died when he was an infant and he was reared by his Aunt, Mrs Pearl Godwin, who loved him as her own son. He was a fine young man.
