CPL. JOHN L. MEDLIN

Cpl. John L. Medlin, above, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Albert Medlin of the Macedonia community, was killed in France on January 5th . He was 21 years old when inducted into service November, 1942, trained at Camp Beale, Calif., Camp Bowie, Texas, and Camp Meade, Md. He went overseas last June, landing in England about June 6th. He was first stationed with Gen. Patton’s 3rd Army in France and later transferred to Gen. Patch’s 7th Army. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received about the first of December.
