Pfc. Robert E. Taylor

Pfc. Robert E. Taylor USMC, son of Mr. & Mrs. C.E. Taylor of Waxhaw, was killed in action on Iwo Jima, March 3rd. He was born May 11, 1922 in Union County and entered the marine corps, March 24, 1943. He received his "boat" training at Paris Island, S.C. and was stationed at Quantico, Va. before going overseas. He was married to Miss Katherine Foster on August 1, 1943 and they have a small daughter.
