This index to the obituaries listed in the Monroe Enquirer Journal was compiled by the staff of the Union County Public Library. To obtain a copy of the obituary, please come to the Monroe Library, call the Genealogy Department (704-283-8184x224) or email them (genealogy@union.lib.nc.us). Email is preferable, particularly for more than one. Requests are limited to no more than five (5) at one time. Those who wish for more than five are asked to submit their first batch of five and wait for those to be received before requesting the next batch. There may be a charge for photocopies. This index covers the following years: 1969-current* with some dates prior to 1969. It is continually updated. If you find errors, please contact the genealogy department.

*Some years are currently incomplete. (1969 is 90% complete; 1977 & 1978 are less than 5% complete; 1986 is 40% complete). The missing information will be added periodically.
