*  "F. Marchant" can be seen on the photograph.  Per "Photographers in North Carolina:  The First Century, 1842 - 1941" compiled by Stephen E. Massengill (Office of Archives & History, N. C. Dept. of Cultural Resources, 2004, p. 140) Marchant was a native of Pennsylvania whose most active period was 1907-1930s in Hamlet, NC - he was the "unofficial photographer for Seaboard Air Line Railway Company".
