Description

Quality Hill Sanatorium was a hospital for the black community built in 1912 by Dr. John S. Massey.  Massey was one of the most respected members of the black community; he provided an invaluable service to the community with his hospital.

Notes

This building was demolished in 1988 as it was severely damaged by a fire in March of 1985. Efforts to preserve it had begun in 1982 but the fire destroyed the chance to save this valuable piece of local African-American history.
