Description 

Old City Hall corner of Hayne and Jefferson.  This was the jail, but was put up for auction on Jan. 2, 1893.  The City of Monroe subsequently bought the building for $2,880.80, and it was used to house city government from 1893 to 1974.  The oldest building still standing in Monroe.
