Notes The "unknown male" is wearing a "Military Service Award" medal given by the United Daughters of the Confederacy (U.D.C.). This one is for WWII. These medals are given to those who have served at least ninety days on active duty, received honorable discharges or are still on active duty and who are "lineal blood" descendants "of a Confederate Soldier or Sailor who rendered honorable military service and did not take the Oath prior to April 9, 1865".
