Notes From "The Carryall", the Engineer's Camp newsletter, April 8, 1944 issue, page 2: "New Red Cross Head Named At Sutton" Richard L. Stallings of Detroit, Mich., last week succeeded Paul Truman as Red Cross field director at Camp Sutton. Mr. Stallings, who has been assistant field director to Mr. Truman since October, 1942, assumed his new post on April 1, when Mr. Truman was transferred to Camp Croft, S. C., as field director. Mr. Stallings joined the Red Cross in September, 1942. Previously, he taught French, Spanish and German at the University of Virginia. He is married. His assistant directors here are Alden Webb and Irving A. Spalding, Jr. |
