This building on Lancaster Avenue was later used as the High School until a new building for the students could be built.  (That 'new' building still exists in 2009 - commonly referred to as "Old Walter Bickett School")

"The old county home building near the graded school is being overhauled and renovated preparatory for the use by the city high school.  Partitions are being removed, the walls repaired and painted and other necessary work putting it in suitable shape to make a fine place for a high school." -The Monroe Journal, Tues., July 16, 1912, p. 5
