Description Corporal Lee Douglas McCray son of Willie T., and Gertrude Walters
McCray of Burford Township. Lee was in the First Army Engineers.
He was wounded in battle in North Africa on March 9, 1942 and died from
his wounds on March 16th. Camp Sutton's commanding officer was
prompt to show honor to the brave soldier. He ordered the main
street named McCray street in Camp Sutton. |
