Johnson Watson McRorie, Jr


Johnson Watson McRorie, Jr. attended Walter Bickett High School from 1942 until 1943.  He was in the US Navy from 1943 until 1946 at a GM 3/C.  During World War II he was in the Philippines (Mindinao), Borneo (Balikpappon), American Theater, European Theater, Asiatic-Pacific Theater, Philippine Liberation, and the Japanese Occupation. 

McRorie married Marie Kiker and they have five children -- Charles Franklin, Patricia Elaine Alden, Johnson Watson III, Kathryn Louise Eagan, and Leon Godown-- and ten grandchildren.

McRorie retired from the US Government Printing Office on June 1, 1982 as Deputy Assistant Public Printer (a grade 18 position).  He returned to Union County on August 19, 1983.

McRorie received a high school diploma from the University of South Carolina in 1954.  It is signed by Governor Jimmy Byrnes.  He also worked in the US Capitol under US Senator B Everett Jordon on the Joint Committee on Printing for 2 years.
